It’s not easy to start reading

I never enjoyed reading. Probably because I never wanted to read in the first place, but it was always something that I had to do for school. And this didn’t change until this year. I still don’t read a lot, but I found some books that I enjoyed reading and I finally want to read because of me, and not because someone is saying to me that I have to. I started to collect my favorite sentences from each book and saving them on my computer.

I think reading is similar to doing sports. If you want to understand what you read, you have to disconnect from other sources (especially your phone) and try to focus as much as possible. I have a lot of difficulties with that, and if the first five pages are boring, I most likely won’t continue reading. But I want to work on that and practice the disconnection. It sounds weird to say that, but I want to read more.
